To Make Natural Shampoo
Ingredients for an Avocado-Jasmine Shampoo:
1/2 cup shampoo base 1/2 cup aloe vera gel 3/4 teaspoon avocado oil 3/4 teaspoon jasmine essential oil
Mix together all ingredients. Place into a clean container preferably with a screw-on lid. Let mixture set for a few hours to allow to thicken and the scents to take hold. Work into hair as usual and allow to sit for several minutes. Rinse as usual and style.
To make your own natural shampoo, you will need to create a shampoo base first:
Ingredients you will need for the shampoo base:
1/4 cup water 1/4 cup castile soap 1/2 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil
This makes 1/2 cup of concentrated shampoo. Mix together all ingredients and place into shampoo bottle.
The next step is to add your own custom essential oils, herbs, or spices. Here are some examples:
Ingredients for a Lavender Shampoo:
1/2 cup shampoo base 2 tablespoons of glycerin 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup fresh lavender 5 drops of lavender essential oil
Mix water and lavender together into a heavy bottom pot and bring to a boil. Let boil gently for at least twenty minutes. Let cool slightly and add basic shampoo mixture and glycerin slowly to herbal mixture. Mix well. Pour shampoo into container and let stand for a few days to allow the mixture to thicken. Use as you would your regular shampoo.
Ingredients for a Pumpkin Pie Shampoo:
1 cup of shampoo base 2 tablespoon glycerin 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
Mix pie spice and water in a heavy bottomed pot and bring to a boil. Let boil gently for at least twenty minutes. Allow to cool slightly and add basic shampoo mixture and glycerin. Mix well. Use as you would your regular shampoo.

Just remember that if you use hair color these will strip your hair quickly. Good to know if you get the wrong shade!!
I have been using hydrogen peroxide to lighten my hair. Not as quick as a chemical hair color but not as toxic either!
It does about the same thing to my hair as the color used to though. I then use a shampoo which is commercially made. Oh well, I'm trying to make progress!

OK ML...
I use straight 3% hp (H2O2) in a small spray bottle. Spritz over areas you want to lighten (I had roots only) and allow to air dry for a while. If I need to get my hair dry faster I use the dryer, but the lightening is less as the solution has less time to work.
I don't rinse it out. Maybe I should??? Anyway, if you want slower changes dilute with 1/2 water 1/2 hp. Don't use on dry hair! I'm sure it blotches. I've not tried that. Maybe a cool look for adventuresome types.
So you can lighten where you want it without all those other chemicals. And blonde is not white blonde just lighter. Maybe it would kill fungus on the scalp as well??? Who knows?

I just thought I'd mention I tried using hydrogen peroxide on a rabbit hide once (I was trying to match colors), and it turned the most hideous shade of orange. The rabbit fur started out more of a dark brown, though, so I'd be real careful if your hair is dark brown.
