My husband and I made a call the other day to Frank and Barb Long about the Rapha Remedy and got to talking to Frank and he started telling us about the line of Probiotics they are making. I told him we have been taking Healthy Trinity for about a year and were happy with it. He told us that Doug and Know the Cause were going to be dropping that line and picking up his line because his is better. I then asked if his was refrigerated and he replied NO! I was stunned and he said that we had been brain washed by Natasha. It seems that Doug will be changing his tune on probiotics here in the next month? I am curious about what everyone is using on probiotics. Our bottle of Heathy Trinity is running low and we were getting ready to get it filled again. Now we are curious. Do you have to buy probiotics that are refrigerated? Have we been brain washed? What is everyone using out there? Yep I am still learning!! Deb C

Rich and I have done QUITE a bit of research on this subject (for another forum). If it's not refrigerated, then it's not human strain. I will continue to take human strain, and that means Natren. But everyone is free to choose whichever one they think is right for them.

If Doug is going to switch opinions now, it just means he's saying what his advertisers want him to say, and that makes all his information null and void as far as I'm concerned. I caught him making up a story today that he said was true and it was impossible, so this on top of that just makes me doubt everything he says now.

Sadly, I think I'm done with Know the Cause. It got me pointed in the right direction, but now I think I'll continue my own research and not look to Doug anymore. Sad

I was really surprised by this when we were talking I have to call Know the Cause and find out for sure. I have not had a chance yet. We had to go to the city today. I just wanted to hear what folks had to say. We have been very happy with Natren. I have been so indoctrinated about the refrigerated type of probiotic I have sent several people to natren and have felt this was the only way to go. I will call them tomorrow and see if I can find out what is going on. I think I to will be disappointed if this is the case but I am not as educated as most of you on this and that is why I asked the question. Deb

This is wonderful news! I have been very impressed with Barb and Frank and know they love Jesus and desire to be of service to Him by providing wonderful products and service.

I am taking Dr. Becker's probiotics at the present time. I don't buy the hype about probiotics having to be refrigerated or human strain. Since most everything we breath, eat, drink or take seems to kill the good bacteria, you might as well accept that you'll have to take probiotics forever if you want good health. I cannot afford to take Natasha's products regularly.

I could be totally wrong in my thinking on this but that's where I stand at the moment! Go where God leads you and you'll never go wrong.

I just got off the phone with Know the Cause, I tried to talk to Debbie or Amanda and neither of them are there today. I also asked for Doug but he was not available. I asked about the Probiotics and Natren vs Frank Long product. The gal was very nice and told me both products are quality and I should use whichever one I liked but that Know the Cause was NO longer working with Natren. So that was the end of that. I am going to call again tomorrow and talk to Debbie and see what she has to say about the refrigeration thing but this gal said it was a personal issue only. both products were high quality. Deb

i use Genestra, not Natren. Genestra needs to be refridgerated, but this is what they say about the fact that they no longer ship on ice:

Are HMF products shipped with an ice pack?
No. But, after extensive product testing and new freeze drying technology performed by Genestra, it was concluded that the ice pack did not make a difference during shipping since the product potency was still well over 100% label claims when shipped with ice or no ice. The manufacturer states that it is no longer necessary to ship the HMF products with an ice pack for these reasons:
Genestra has added in 50% more probiotic than what the label guarantees per bottle. For example, HMF Forte is guaranteed to have 6 billion L. acidophilus per serving, but there are 12 billion present at time of manufacturing and it is kept frozen until shipping.
October 2004: The manufacturer has increased product stability again, allowing the probiotics to last up to 6 months at room temperature holding their GUARANTEED minimum potency on label!
You will receive your HMF probiotic directly from the manufacturer in about 3-5 days. This product is very fresh and has not been sitting around on our shelves. And, you are guaranteed it will contain 50% more than what the label states.
How do I travel with my HMF probiotics?
We highly recommend you take your probiotics with you on all trips and vacations since their potency will last for up to 6 months at room temperature un-refrigerated. But, when possible and if convenient, we recommend you store your probiotics in the freezer or refrigerator, especially if you plan to preserve freshness of your product for months or years.

i hope this helps a bit.

If you want to call them for a better explination:

But Genestra is kept in the fridge in stores. i do not trust shelves probiotics to be have as many active organisms as the label says.

Thanks for this info, I looked at the site and it looks like their biggest bottle is only 30 at a time? I guess that would be okay. I like that at Natren we have been able to get their bottles with 90 and with both of us taking it that helps alot. I know it is expensive but Natren has had a deal when you buy 2 at the regular price you get the 3rd one free. So it does cost $300 but it does save in the long run. When I calculate the kind you are getting the same quantity would cost me about $324. So they are comparable in price. I am certainly not married to Natren. I just want to be taking a good probiotic. I know we have both felt so much better taking them. I just would not feel right taking one that was not refrigerated. So maybe I have been brainwashed. Thanks for giving me this information it is really helpful Deb

You're welcome Wink

I buy the powdered HMF, it can last longer than 30 days. Genestra is fantastic: i once had a bottle i forgot about int eh fridge, and i notoced that it was at the expirery date ( i'd had it in the fridge for a year). I decided to finish it up to see if it was still active & it was!

I still use Natren and floragen which are both human strain and have to be refrigerated. I think that my still high levels of mercury in my body must kill them off. I can't wait to continue my detox. so that the correct strains can take hold and then I won't have to keep taking them.
One should only have to take probiotics if they somehow kill off their flora. If you eat right and don't take antibiotics or other bacterial killers then you should be okay.

I have a question ..... if probiotics have to be refrigerated to 'stay alive' what happens when they hit our 98.6 temp insides? Question

it doesn't need to be cold to stay alive, the cold helps it to stay stable outside of it's natural environment.

I tried again to talk to Debbie at KTC but she did not return my call. I talked to her very briefly on wednesday and she promised me she would call thursday morning and explain the refrirgeration thing. I sure wish she would call. This is frustrating to me. We have been paying attention to what we have been taught and now I am confused about this. Deb

Get a more accurate explination from the people who make it instead of just promoters of it. You or Soteria should call Natren or Genestra & ask them.

The few times I called Natren to ask questions, they were rude, curt and acted like I was interrupting their time.....good products tho.

I thought it was brutal too after all the hype Doug keep saying about how helpful and courteous they'd be and how they'd answer all your questions, yadda, yadda, yadda.

And to quote Forrest Gump "And that's all I've got to say about that!"
